Little foxes

Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. –Song of Solomon 2:15
Blitzkrieg (German, “lightning war“) is a term describing a method of warfare whereby an attacking force spearheaded by a dense concentration of armored and motorized or mechanized infantry formations and heavily backed up by close air support forces a breakthrough into the enemy’s line of defense through a series of short, fast, powerful attacks; and once in the enemy’s territory, proceeds to dislocate them using speed and surprise, and then encircle them. By employing combined arms in maneuver warfare, the Blitzkrieg attempts to unbalance the enemy by making it difficult for them to respond effectively to the continuously changing front and defeat them through a decisive Vernichtungsschlacht (battle of annihilation). wiki
Has your life ever felt as if it were under a spiritual Blitzkrieg? Being attacked quickly and relentlessly with no time to react and the thought of recovery doesn’t have time to enter your mind. This can lead to confusion and surrender because we feel overwhelmed by everything. Many of us have experienced this before and perhaps even more than once. Our adversary, Satan, like a military general, is a strategist. He is organized to have demon captains over regions and even your family. He is a tactician and plans his attacks to have the maximum destructive effect on your life and ministry. Knowing this, we must realize that he employs more strategies than just Blitzkrieg.
He understands that he needs to use different types of attacks based upon the person he is attacking and even the time of their life. Sometimes instead of a massive head-on attack, he will exercise patience and send more minor attacks over an extended period. This cumulative attack can be both subtle and damaging because if we do not invest time in prayer, we will not be fully aware of the attack. These little foxes will be sent to slowly and quietly eat away at our faith, and before we know it, the weight of those multiple small attacks has taken its toll. Have you ever been enjoying your day, then at some point, you feel depressed and don’t know why? This is a little fox’s attack, and it was not as if you woke up depressed, but slowly throughout the day, you became that way.
My prayer for you today is that you seek God’s Word more intensely than ever. Elevate your prayer life and ask God to awaken you spiritually while under one of these little fox attacks. Ask him to let you know when the attack begins so that you can resist it rather than trying to react to it later once it has taken hold of you. If you do these things, those little foxes’ attacks won’t be able to grow into something much larger, and you will find that victory will be more evident in your life.
